US Embassy Sponsored Biotech Workshop in Colombo, Sri Lanka

WorldTAP has been involved in biotechnology development and capacity building activities in Sri Lanka since 2004. As part of these collaborations, Associate Director of WorldTAP, Dr. Cholani Weebadde, participated in a recently concluded Biotechnology workshop in Colombo, Sri Lanka (September 27 - October 5). The workshop was sponsored by the US Embassy. Dr. Weebadde presented several talks and led discussions on biosafety issues, risk assessment, Intellectual Property Rights and global status of biotech crops.
